After making a purchase from Hopeful Minds Wellness Lab, it is essential to follow the procedure for collecting DNA samples safely and effectively. By following the simple steps below, you can ensure accurate results and contribute to ongoing research in the field of wellness.
Materials Needed
To collect DNA Mouth Samples, you will need sterile cotton swabs or buccal swabs, (unless you purchased a test that requires a hair sample) as well as clean, sealable containers such as sterile zip loc plastic bags. These materials are essential for preserving the integrity of the DNA samples and ensuring accurate analysis.
Procedure for DNA Collection
Step 1 Carefully swab the inside of your cheek for at least 20 seconds with the sterile cotton swab or buccal swab (if this is a hair sample: cut a small piece of hair). Let the swabs dry for at least 10 minutes while on a clean surface.
Step 2 Place the swab or hair in the clean, zip loc bag, making sure to seal it securely.
Step 3 Label the zip loc bag with your name and date of collection to avoid any mix-ups during the analysis process. If you are submitting more than one set of dna samples please place them in a separate plastic zip loc bag with the correct name.
Step 4 Then place all different (making sure separate names on each bag) plastic zip loc bags into one envelope.
